Boston Winters

My first snowstorm. I hope it doesn't impede my homecoming this Sunday, or I'll probably be really pissed.

Grades won't be so good. Probably should do better. So many probablies. I'm hungry, dinner was too early.

Healthy, not happy. Health = Wealth, but Wealth =/= Happiness.

So is health then a principle to work one's life around? Short and happy or long and sad?

I guess we should just be asking ourselves what rules we are willing to break in order to get a desired outcome.

Would you be willing to kill for true love? To commit suicide for a cause? To steal for a living...?

Rules are there to hold society together. Yet...society has its own interest, and we have our own rules. Setting priorities should not be done by the majority, but by onself. Yet in the age of internet, don't we need other people?

Black Magic in Magic the Gathering believes that everything is a resource. Is that what the world is? Human beings, emotional resources?

What is love but a mating ritual that's heightened in complexity?

Maybe the whole concept of true love is just fabricated by a species' need to mate or decieve itself into thinking that there's something better than what's presented...

Whatever for now. It's irrelevant. Back to reality.

I'm coming home.

Twin Legacies of Babylon

Diversity. A curse and a blessing. So much color to appreciate. So much color to discriminate.

Language. So much to say. So much to hear. So much to misundestand.

One object. Two lights, two shadows.

Being a burden is a burden. For two people. Or more if you want it to be.

Time moves so slowly. As I say this, it zips right past me.

I just want to go home. And stay home. Don't want to go to Boracay. Sounds so annoying.

The clock is ticking. Going home soon. Not sure what I want to do anymore.

Life is so meaninglessly boring. Must hang on to fantasies to justify struggle against mundane reality.

Green is our god. Money is our god. And right now, our god is punishing us. We are bending over to pieces of paper that represent power. Foldable, pocketably power.

The power of temporary heaven. The power to command hell.

The power that comes with a cost. The choice that is shackled by chains.

Or...

The freedom to starve. The freedom to live. The freedom to lie dying on the ground.

Powerless.

Reality. Justice. Fantasy. Truth.

Justice lies between fantasy and reality. In reality, justice is cause and effect. In fantasy, justice is supreme. It governs both aspects, standing right in the middle where both dare not meet.

The truth is a fantasy. There is no truth. There is only subjectivity and the sad need to classify. A sad need to define the truth.

Power defines truth. God wants nothing to do with anyone. All it wants is to be loved. Worship is the lifeblood of gods. Defiance cuts them. Ignorance drives them powerless.

...hope. Is there any hope? There probably isn't any. It doesn't exist unless we let it.

Maybe if we believed in a god...that meant that he'd already exist? Fallacious.

Knights of the Shield

There is so much hype over relationships these days. Between girls who want guys to read their minds and guys who don't know what to get the girls. Girls end up frustrated because they don't get what they want, and guys end up frustrated because the girls become unappreciative.

Conservative standard operating procedure. Figures.

In a world where people honor tact over honesty, I guess it's pretty normal.

The only advantage of being spoiled is honesty. At least people will know what you want. Being unashamed, being open. Being free. Opposed to being insecure and quiet.

Backstabbers suck. They pretend to be nice out in front, but they are far worse than the spoiled ones. They do not share their grievances, but they pull the subtly dangling strings on the wide stage, muttering asides for an invisible audience.

Yet who am I to judge? Where do I lie on the spectrum of decietful righteousness and honest darkness? I'm just a kid in the world, ranting about a reality.

If you can't solve it, it isn't a problem, it's reality. (From a Filipino play)

It happens. I should probably get over it.

Other people shouldn't decide what you do with your life, but they do.

You see girls wanting to be princesses in a fairy tale, looking for guys who would sweep them off their feet rather than being who they are and being swept off their feet for who they are. They seek fairy tales when instead they could anticipate something that is all the more real. More real, yet more magical.

You see guys wanting to just objectify women. Who want to get drunk at a bar and get laid the easy way. Impatient and willing. Smart and cunning. Predators and victims of a society that's chained together by preconcieved notions weaved by the media.

Aren't oppressors just victims at the end of the day? Are people born bad or do they end up that way?

Forever has lost its meaning. Did it ever truly mean anything if all concepts of forever take forever to test?

And the idea comes to mind: Magic.

What is magic? What defines a miracle? We have street performers and priests and shamans, but we have no idea what it is.

For now, the best idea comes from Bruce Almighty, which proclaims that one ought to be the miracle.

Freedom is an illusion conceptualized in order to make us feel in control when in fact we aren't. Or are we?

Diversity is an illusion conceptualized to forward culture, which forwards discrimination. Does the value of diversity inherently contradict unity? I dunno. Is culture bad? Maybe...maybe...

Boy Bands were created in order to seduce women into buying things. Tell you what you want so that you continue on with the quintessential notion that you should look pretty to be in their videos.

Again, the notion of predation arises.

It's a biological fact that in the animal kingdom, men try to spread their seed as far and wide, because they produce cheap gametes. Females on the other hand are more selective. Learned this at Anthropology.

Yet...like Cartmill said, it does not justify stereotypes. Natural is not always good. What is good is not always natural.

Is it ok for men to objectify women if women were to objectift men just as much? Is objectivity inherently bad?

That's all for now. For now, the knights of the shield are dying. Chivalry died with the rise of feminism and women's rights. They aren't bad. I'm just saying chivalry was the cost.

Teach war, preach peace.

Peace out.

Blood in the Water

The only justice is unjustice. A wise friend of mine once said that. After he said that, he didnt' seem so wise anymore.

Living here is easy. Surviving is easy. This was made easy by a lot of support from the Philippines, as well as support from my good friend Alejandro Ty.

Grabe. I miss the Philippines. I just feel like saying that.

Thought of the day: Capitalism is evil, and the rich are a society on their own. Middle class owns?

Dunno. Go McCain! Ay the election is over... :P

It's been a long time I guess. Grades are fine. Americans are smart.

Money is a cage of riches. The more influence you have on people, the more influence they have on you.
