There is so much hype over relationships these days. Between girls who want guys to read their minds and guys who don't know what to get the girls. Girls end up frustrated because they don't get what they want, and guys end up frustrated because the girls become unappreciative. Conservative standard operating procedure. Figures. In a world where people honor tact over honesty, I guess it's pretty normal. The only advantage of being spoiled is honesty. At least people will know what you want. Being unashamed, being open. Being free. Opposed to being insecure and quiet. Backstabbers suck. They pretend to be nice out in front, but they are far worse than the spoiled ones. They do not share their grievances, but they pull the subtly dangling strings on the wide stage, muttering asides for an invisible audience. Yet who am I to judge? Where do I lie on the spectrum of decietful righteousness and honest darkness? I'm just a kid in the world, ranting about a reality. If you can't solve it, it isn't a problem, it's reality. (From a Filipino play) It happens. I should probably get over it. Other people shouldn't decide what you do with your life, but they do. You see girls wanting to be princesses in a fairy tale, looking for guys who would sweep them off their feet rather than being who they are and being swept off their feet for who they are. They seek fairy tales when instead they could anticipate something that is all the more real. More real, yet more magical. You see guys wanting to just objectify women. Who want to get drunk at a bar and get laid the easy way. Impatient and willing. Smart and cunning. Predators and victims of a society that's chained together by preconcieved notions weaved by the media. Aren't oppressors just victims at the end of the day? Are people born bad or do they end up that way? Forever has lost its meaning. Did it ever truly mean anything if all concepts of forever take forever to test? And the idea comes to mind: Magic. What is magic? What defines a miracle? We have street performers and priests and shamans, but we have no idea what it is. For now, the best idea comes from Bruce Almighty, which proclaims that one ought to be the miracle. Freedom is an illusion conceptualized in order to make us feel in control when in fact we aren't. Or are we? Diversity is an illusion conceptualized to forward culture, which forwards discrimination. Does the value of diversity inherently contradict unity? I dunno. Is culture bad? Maybe...maybe... Boy Bands were created in order to seduce women into buying things. Tell you what you want so that you continue on with the quintessential notion that you should look pretty to be in their videos. Again, the notion of predation arises. It's a biological fact that in the animal kingdom, men try to spread their seed as far and wide, because they produce cheap gametes. Females on the other hand are more selective. Learned this at Anthropology. Yet...like Cartmill said, it does not justify stereotypes. Natural is not always good. What is good is not always natural. Is it ok for men to objectify women if women were to objectift men just as much? Is objectivity inherently bad? That's all for now. For now, the knights of the shield are dying. Chivalry died with the rise of feminism and women's rights. They aren't bad. I'm just saying chivalry was the cost. Teach war, preach peace. Peace out. -Hastarius |
